Lori Engel and Craig Smith of New York City are planning a July 7, 2012, wedding at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Brookfield.

Parents of the couple are John and Gail Engel of Brookfield and Rick and Kathi Smith of Katy, Texas, formerly of Brookfield.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and her master's degree in occupational therapy from Columbia University in New York City. She is an occupational therapist with the Hebrew Home at Riverdale in the Bronx.

The future groom earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and his bachelor's degree in nursing from Columbia University. He plans to attend DePaul University in Chicago in fall 2012 to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist. He is a registered nurse with New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City.
