Michelle M. Thate and Stephen M. Arneson of Kansas City, Kan., are planning a July 21, 2012, wedding at St. John's Cathedral in Milwaukee.

Parents of the couple are Brian and Anne Thate and Gerald and Diane Arneson of Brookfield.

The bride-to-be earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her master's degree in public health from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She is a medical student at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

The future groom earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from UW-Milwaukee. He is the manager at Café Roux in Kansas City.

The couple became engaged in April 2011 while searching for a place to live in Kansas City.
