Ask NOW: Bank construction will alter landscaping

Jan. 25, 2012 | 0 comments

Is there a rumor you've heard you would like to track down? Is there something in the community that needs to get fixed? Mary Malahy answers some of the mysteries of life in the Elmbrook area.

Bank construction will alter landscaping

Issue: A reader heard that there will be a new bank built in the Pick 'n Save parking lot. She wants to know if this is true, and, if it is, she is concerned that it will disrupt the plantings that were put in a few years ago.

Status: I spoke with Mike Theis, planning administrator, and he confirmed that a PNC bank will be built in the northwest corner of the Pick 'n Save lot at the corner of Capitol Drive and Calhoun Road. He said the project will have some impact on the existing landscape, but will also involve adding new plantings to improve the appearance. The bank's construction is hoped to be completed later this year.
