Ask NOW: Traffic light rumor laid to rest

Feb. 8, 2012 | 0 comments

Is there a rumor you've heard you would like to track down? Is there something in the community that needs to get fixed? Mary Malahy answers some of the mysteries of life in the Elmbrook area.

Traffic light rumor laid to rest

Issue: A reader heard that stoplights are to be installed at the intersection where Yukon and Beaufort roads meet at Capitol Drive. She wants to know if there is any truth to this.

Status: Jeff Chase, city engineer, tells me this is not true. He added that there may be a new signal in the future, but right now there is not enough traffic on Yukon and Beaufort roads to warrant one.

"It's more of a waiting game at this point," Chase said. "When there is more traffic, the signal will go in, but there are no plans currently."
