Ask NOW: What's the scoop on Airsoft guns?

Dec. 7, 2011 | 2 comments

Is there a rumor you've heard you would like to track down? Is there something in the community that needs to get fixed? Mary Malahy answers some of the mysteries of life in the Elmbrook area.

What's the scoop on Airsoft guns?

Issue: A reader wants to know if Airsoft guns are legal in Brookfield. She also wants to know what the proper way to dispose of them is.

Status: Airsoft guns are legal to possess but discharging them is illegal within the city limits, Assistant Chief Dean Collins of the City of Brookfield Police Department said. Residents who dispose of an Airsoft gun should first destroy it by smashing it or they can bring it to the police station, unloaded and in a case.

  1. Its funny that a town says you cant fire a non lethal bb gun in the city limits, but yet its legal to possess it. I don't quite understand. Maybe because I am an avid airsofter and know that with the proper safety airsoft guns can be plenty of fun with lil to no risk. I get all my safety info from here. http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-safety.htm
  2. Really......... an AIRSOFT?????? not even a BB gun or pellet gun??? Next they'll tell me I can own "Call of Duty" but I can't play it. It's a plactic ball. People are so stupid when they have no clue as to what they're doing. :( "proper way to dispose of them".... give them to me.... or raysauce ;)
