Boys basketball

The Brookfield Academy boys are 2-1 in the Midwest Classic Conference so far this year.

The Blue Knights traveled to Wayland Academy (2-2) on Saturday and won, 72-60. They were led by sophomore Sean Clarey with 20 points, senior Lanre Olaniyan and junior Domonique Criss, each with 17 points.

The Blue Knights dropped a 66-52 decision Dec. 8 to No. 2 (Division 5) Racine Lutheran at home.

"The game was close throughout but their defensive intensity and senior leadership took over in the end," BA coach Pat Clarey said. Sean Clarey led the way again with 16 points and Criss added 13.

Brookfield Academy beat Living Word Lutheran, 85-54, on Dec. 2 to start the year behind Sean Clarey's 34 points. Criss, a point guard, had 15 points and eight assists, while seniors Tyler Frohwirth had 13 points and Zach Kolasinski had 10.

The Blue Knights play Chicago's Lane Tech in the Chicago Public School Holiday Shootout on Saturday.
